Remont - nezavisna umetnicka asocijacija (osnovana oktobra 1999.) vec vise
od decenije vazi za jedno od najznacajnijih i najaktivnijih  mesta na
beogradskoj i srpskoj kulturnoj mapi. Vise od 10 godina Remont asocijacija
 aktivno sprovodi ciljeve ozivljavanja domace art scene, promocije,
popularizacije savremenog umetnickog izraza, povezivanja sa aktuelnim
medjunarodnim desavanjima, saradnje i pomoci drugim organizacijama i
pojedincima.

Od 2000. godine u prostoru galerije odrzano je preko 300 programa
(izlozbi, promocija, projekcija, diskusija). U programima su ucestvovali
najzacajniji srpski savremeni umetnici svih generacija, a u galeriji su se
po prvi put predstavili mnogi, danas uspesni i medjunarodno priznati
autori, kako iz nase zemlje tako i iz inostranstva.

Iako stalno na ivici opstanka, do sada smo uspevali da prevazidjemo sve
ekonomske teskoce i odrzavamo programe na profesionalnom nivou. Krajem
prosle godine, svesni da vise nije moguce obezbediti sredstva za zakup i
odrzavanje prostora (oko 600 Eur mesecno, bez komunalija i drugih
troskova), zapoceli smo niz aktivnosti i pregovaranja u vezi sa
pronalazenjem drugog, adekvatnijeg, prostora za osnovnu - galerijsku
delatnost.

Pored dobre volje predstavnika lokalne samouprave, do danas nismo uspeli
da pronadjemo odgovarajuce resenje.

Razloga za to ima vise.

Bez sistematskih promena i uskladjivanja kulturne politike sa praksom u
realnim uslovima, sva licna, pojedinacna zalaganja su, na zalost, potpuno
nevidljiva i bez rezultata.

Nakon bezuspesnog trosenja licne energije i znanja, doneli smo, za nas
tesku odluku, da otkazemo zakup galerijskog prostora od 1. juna 2011.

Jedna galerija u Beogradu manje.

Sticaj okolnosti i apsurdna situacija da smo primorani da zrtvujemo
galerijski prostor, nas sve vise usmerava da se posvetimo drugacijim
vidovima delovanja u oblasti savremene umetnosti.

Sve svoje aktivnosti nastavicemo da realizujemo i dalje. Vise
medjunarodnih, lokalnih i regionalnih projekata, koji se ne ticu direktno
galerijskog programa, su u toku. Predvidjene a nerealizovane izlozbe,
ostvaricemo u drugim, prijateljskim, prostorima u Beogradu.

For over a decade, Remont - Independent Artistic Association (founded in
October 1999) is known as one of the most significant and most active
places on Belgrade and Serbian cultural map. More than 10 years,  Remont
Association actively pursued the goals of reviving the local art scene,
promotion and popularization of modern artistic expression, connecting
with current international developments, cooperation and assistance to
other organizations and individuals.

Since 2000 over 300 programs (exhibitions, promotions, projections,
discussions) have been held in the gallery. The most significant Serbian
contemporary artists of all generations participated in various programs,
and many today successful and internationally acclaimed authors both from
our country and abroad presented their work, for the first time in our
gallery.

Although constantly on the brink of survival, we have so far managed to
overcome all the economic difficulties and to keep the programs on
professional level. By the end of the previous year, being aware that it
was not longer possible to provide the funds for rental and maintenance of
space (round 600 Euros per month, without utilities and other costs), we
began series of activities and negotiations related to finding other, more
appropriate facilities for basic â€" gallery activities.

Despite the good will of local officials, we could not find suitable
solution to this date.

There are several reasons for this.

Without systemic changes and harmonization of cultural policy with
practice in real conditions, all personal, individual efforts are,
unfortunately, completely invisible, and with no results.
After fruitless expenditure in terms of personal energy and knowledge, we
have brought the difficult decision to cancel the rental of the gallery
space from 1 June 2011.
One gallery space less in Belgrade.

The circumstances and absurd situation of being forced to sacrifice the
gallery space, increasingly directs us to turn to different forms of
actions in the field of contemporary art.

We will continue to realize all our activities. Several international,
local and regional projects that are not directly related to the gallery
program are under way. The planned but still pending exhibitions will be
realized in other, more friendly spaces of Belgrade.
