Le Château – Résidences artistiques
Le Centre international d’art et du paysage inaugure un nouveau programme de résidences artistiques sur l’île de Vassivière, dans le Château, récemment réhabilité par les architectes Berger&Berger et BuildingBuilding avec le financement de la Région Limousin et du ministère de la Culture et de la Communication – Drac Limousin.
L’histoire singulière du Lac de Vassivière, la force du paysage sur cette île artificielle, la richesse culturelle en Limousin et la qualité architecturale de ces nouveaux espaces offrent des conditions exceptionnelles aux artistes et chercheurs désireux de consacrer du temps à la réflexion et à l’expérimentation.
Artistes et chercheurs sont invités à postuler avec un projet de recherche et de création lié au paysage et/ou à l’histoire du territoire sur lequel est implanté le Centre d’art.
Ces résidences de recherche et de création sont programmées par saisons de quatre mois (16 semaines). Chaque saison accueille simultanément trois résidents qui pourront collaborer s’ils le souhaitent.
Pour l’année 2012-2013 les résidences se répartissent selon le calendrier suivant :
1ère saison : 26 octobre 2012–17 février 2013 (date limite pour postuler: 4 octobre 2012)
2ème saison :  25 février – 16 juin 2013
3ème saison :  24 juin – 13 octobre 2013
Les résidences sont ouvertes à trois créateurs et/ou chercheurs postulant séparément ou en équipe dans les pratiques suivantes :
      Arts plastiques : artistes plasticien(ne)s professionnel(le)s, pour un projet de recherche et d’expérimentation, en phase préparatoire d’une exposition ayant lieu dans une autre structure culturelle ou désireux de développer de nouvelles orientations ou différentes méthodes de travail. Les artistes plasticiens sont invités à postuler à la prochaine session (25 février/16 juin 2013) dont l’appel sera lancé fin novembre.
      Écriture : écrivain, anthropologue, poète, critique d’art, conteur, philosophe… pour un projet de recherche et d'écriture inscrit dans une démarche d'expérimentation, éventuellement en partenariat avec un éditeur, une université, un théâtre, un festival, etc. Pour la saison 26 octobre 2012 – 17 février 2013 : les candidatures sont ouvertes.
      Autres disciplines : paysagiste, designer, ethnobotaniste, musicien(ne), chorégraphe… pour un projet de recherche et de création, éventuellement en coproduction avec une autre structure culturelle, une université, une école d’art etc. Pour la saison 26 octobre 2012 – 17 février 2013 : les candidatures sont ouvertes.

The Castle – Artists' Residencies
The Centre international d’art et du paysage is launching a new programme of artists' residencies in the Castle on Vassivière Island, recently transformed by architects Berger&Berger and BuildingBuilding. The renovation project was financed by the Limousin Region and the Ministry of Culture and Communication – Limousin Region Cultural Affairs Office (DRAC). 
The singular history of Lake Vassivière, the striking character of this artificial island's landscape, the cultural assets of the Limousin Region and the superb renovation of this new space combine to provide a remarkable setting for artists and researchers, for reflection and experimentation. 
 Artists and researchers seeking a residency are invited to submit a research and creation project linked to the landscape and/or the history of the Art Centre site.
Residencies are granted for seasons of four months (16 weeks). Each season is open to three residents who are free to work together should they so desire. 
For the year 2012-2013 the residency calendar is as follows:
1st Season: 26 October 2012-17 February 2013 (final application date: 4 October 2012)
2nd Season:  25 February – 16 June 2013
3rd Season:  24 June – 13 October 2013
The residencies are open to three artists and/or researchers applying separately or as a group in the following domains:
      Visual arts: Professional visual artists, for a research and experimentation project preparatory to an exhibition in another venue, or wishing to explore new work methods and emphases. Visual artists are thus invited to apply for the following season (26 February – 16 June 2013); applications open in late November.
      Writing: Writers, anthropologists, art critics, storytellers, philosophers, etc. are invited to apply with an experimentally-inflected writing and research project – possibly in association with a publisher, university, theatre, festival, etc. Applications are now open for the season  26 October 2012 – 17 February 2013.
      Other disciplines: Landscapers, designers, ethnobotanists, musicians, choreographers, etc. are invited to apply with a research and creation project, possibly as part of a coproduction with another cultural body, university, art school, etc. Applications are now open for the season  26 October 2012 – 17 February 2013.
