Projekt KIOSK/CHIOȘC je platformou pre výmenu, vzdelávanie,  
produkciu a prezentáciu spoločensky angažovaných foriem a   
artikuluje potrebu vytvorenia alternatívnej infraštruktúry v  
Kišiňove , kde kultúrnemu životu ešte stále dominujú  
inštitúcie vytvorené v sovietskych časoch. Súčasná výstava  
predstavuje diela vytvorené miestnymi a pozvanými umelcami v rámci  
rezidenčného programu KIOSK/CHIOȘC. Využitím opustených,  
nepoužívaných alebo mono-funkčných verejných priestorov umelci  
spolu s obyvateľmi Kišiňova, vytvorili nové priestory pre dialóg a  
kritické reflexie, a upozornili na súčasné transformácie  
verejných priestorov. Zároveň otvorili otázky týkajúce sa  
nastoleného poriadku a existujúcich právnych predpisoch vytvorených  
príslušnými orgánmi. Výsledok týchto intervencií a reakcií na  
ne by nás mal podnietiť k prehodnoteniu role, ktorú by malo umenie a  
umelec zohrávať vo verejnom priestore, v opätovnom získavaní a  
otváraní nových priestorov interakcie, v krajine s dominanciou  
politiky, komercie a privátnych záujmov.

KIOSK/CHIOȘC project articulates and expresses the need for  
alternative cultural infrastructure to be created in Chisinau – a  
city where the cultural life is still dominated by institutions  
established during the Soviet period – as a model for sharing,  
education, production and presentation of socially engaged artistic  
practices. The current exhibition presents the works produced by local  
and invited in the frame of KIOSK/CHIOȘC artist in residency program  
participants. By making use of abandoned, underused or mono-functional  
public spaces the artists along with Chișinău inhabitants, open new  
spaces of dialogue and critical reflection, and observation of the  
recent public space transformations, questioning in the same time the  
established order and existing regulations along with the authority  
itself. The outcomes of these interventions and the reactions to them  
should encourage us to rethink the role that art could play and the  
artist could have when working in and with the public domain,  
regaining and opening new space of interaction in a landscape  
dominated by politics, commercialization and private interests.
