Dear Mailing List,

AHRC-funded PhD studentships in Arts and Design 2015
Details:
http://www.sunderland.ac.uk/research/newsevents/news/news/index.php?nid=3189

Sunderland University has offered AHRC-funded PhD studentships in Arts and
Design since 2004, and since 2008 also as part of a partnership with
University of Northumbria. Each year from 2014 to 2019, PhD studentships
in Art and Design are being offered as part of the Northumbria-Sunderland
AHRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Art and Design which works across Art
and Design research groups. Before applying for an AHRC studentship, you
should make preliminary enquiries with the subject specialists listed. You
might be particularly interested in:

Digital Art / Curation: contact Professor Beryl Graham

Design (Sunderland): contact Professor Beryl Graham or Dr. Andrew
Richardson

Application deadline - Monday 20th April 2015, 12pm.
Interviews - Monday 18th May and Tuesday 19th May, 2015.

——

I’m happy to announce some more opportunities for PhD studentships, and
previous applicants are very welcome to apply again. This year, in
addition to Curating New Media art, we also have Design opportunities,
which can include Curating Design, and Generative/Open Source subjects.
Current students include Dani Admiss (former Assistant Curator on Digital
Revolution, Barbican) and Liam Jefferies (MA Design RCA). Do feel free to
chat to me informally if you are interested in full-time or part-time
research.

Please note that these studentships have some UK residency requirements -
see AHRC's Student Funding Guide pages 92 – 98.
