Commissioned by the Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF), Jordi Baltà, an
international expert and trainer in cultural policies, cultural diversity
and international cultural relations and member of the Interarts board,
has drafted the report 'Culture & Disability: Policies & Practices in Asia
& Europe', as part of the preparatory work for the 16th Informal ASEM
Seminar on Human Rights (Beijing, China, 8-10 November 2016), which
focused on human rights and people with disabilities. The study presents
an overview of innovative policy measures and case studies related to arts
and disability that have been undertaken in Asia and Europe. One of the
recommendations made is the need to harness the full potential of mobile
and digital technologies to improve access for disabled people to art and
culture.
