Numele ei este Yula. Ea locuiește în Rusia lui Putin. Casa ei este cea mai mare haldă de gunoi din Europa. La zece ani, Yula are doar un vis – să ducă o viață normală. Timp de 14 ani, Hanna Polak urmărește cum Yula crește pe teritoriul interzis din Svalka, depozitul de gunoi situat la 13 mile de Kremlin, în Rusia lui Putin. SOMETHING BETTER TO COME <http://somethingbettertocomethemovie.com/> – o poveste dramatică care o arată pe Yula și parcusrul ei de la maturitate până la punctul în care își ia destinul în propriile mâini. Este o poveste despre speranță, curaj și viață.

Hanna Polak, regizoare nominalizată la Oscar, și-a finalizat studiile în domeniul Cinematografiei Divizate, la Institutul de Cinematografie din Rusia. A lucrat la diverse filme în calitate de producător, regizor, cameraman sau fotograf. În 2002, a primit premiul de Cel mai bun Producător de Filme Documentare și Scurte Ficțiuni în Polonia pentru Railway Station Ballad. În 2004 a făcut filmul The Children of Leningradsky în colaborare cu HBO. Filmul a fost nominalizat la Oscar (2005), IDA, două nominalizări la Emmy, și Gracie Allen Award. Hanna pledează pentru cazurile copiilor fără adăpost din întreaga lume. A fondat și colaborat cu fundația Active Child Aid și colaborează cu UNICEF.

Filmul are subtitrare în limba rusă.

Her name is Yula. She lives in Putin’s Russia. Her home is the largest garbage dump in Europe. Ten-year-old Yula has but one dream – to lead a normal life. For 14 YEARS, Hanna Polak follows Yula as she grows up in the forbidden territory of Svalka, the garbage dump located 13 miles from the Kremlin in Putin’s Russia. SOMETHING BETTER TO COME <http://somethingbettertocomethemovie.com/> is Yula’s story – a dramatic tale of coming of age and maturing to the point of taking destiny into one’s own hands. It is a story of hope, courage, and life, all shot in gripping vérité style that stuns with its directness and immediacy.

Hanna Polak, an Oscar-nominated director, graduated from the Cinematography Division of the Cinematography Institute of the Russian Federation. She worked on various movies as producer, director, cinematographer and still photographer. In 2002, she was awarded Best Producer of Documentary and Short Fiction Movies in Poland for Railway Station Ballad. In 2004 she completed work on The Children of Leningradsky in collaboration with HBO. The movie received an Oscar nomination (2005), an IDA Award, two Emmy nominations, and the Gracie Allen Award among others. Hanna has been advocating the case of homeless children all over the world. She founded and collaborated with Active Child Aid foundation and collaborates with UNICEF.
