Robert Bosch Foundation cultural managers for South East Europe scheme

A call for host cultural organisations in South East Europe who would like
to receive a Robert Bosch cultural manager posted to work with the
organisation for 1-3 years.

The Robert Bosch Foundation provides

Cultural and Educational Institutions in Southeast Europe
Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia

with the opportunity of applying for a Robert Bosch Cultural Manager that
will be posted locally.

The Robert Bosch cultural managers from Germany are deployed on the 1st of
August 2007 for one to three years to educational and cultural
institutions in Southeastern Europe working in the area of cultural
exchange with German speaking countries.

The cultural managers support the host institution when it comes to
developing concepts and organising the tasks at hand. The core duties of
the cultural managers are the networking of the host institutions with
other cultural institutions, the conceptual development as well as
fundraising, project work and public relations. The work being done should
definitely appeal to the younger generation, sparking their interest.

The cultural managers have graduated in a relevant course of studies, have
project work experience and knowledge of their host country as well as its
language. Parallel to their activities, they are trained in seminars for
the next generation of leaders within international cultural exchange
which take place on a regular basis. They receive a stipend from the
Robert Bosch Foundation. The visa fees and the most important insurances
(health, accident, private liability and baggage insurance cover) are also
taken care of by the Foundation.

In order to qualify as a host institution for a cultural manager, the
following minimum requirements have to be fulfilled:

- the institution already has experience of cultural exchanges with
Germany or wants to systematically set up such an area of expertise

- the institution is at least one year old and comes with the necessary
sound financial base

- the institution is already being supported by at least two active employees

- the institution can provide the cultural manager with a workplace that
includes the necessary communication tools (computer, telephone, Internet,
etc.)

- the institution supports the cultural manager in all organisational
matters such as looking for accommodation, residence permit, etc.

The host institution is involved when it comes to selecting the cultural
