1st International Youth Theatre Festival, Russia, May 15-19


A call for participation from professional theatres (young cast),
professional theatre studios, youth theatres, non-repertory and open
projects for the 1st International Youth Theatre Festival in Russia on the
theme of "World without war, terrorism and violence!". No weapons
permitted in the stage productions (swords, pistols, rifles, submachine
guns, canons etc.).

The great event is going to be held in Russia the First International
Youth Theatre Festival "Tomorrow Begins Today!" We suggest setting an
"arms moratorium" for five days in May (15th-19th) 2007 across all
theatrical stages of Russian hero-town Tula, including the State Memorial
and Natural Preserve "Museum-Estate of Leo Tolstoy "Yasnaya Polyana" for
an evident purpose - to accentuate the problem "Society and Arms".

It is assumed that over 16 theatres from different countries will
participate in the Festival. All of them share the positions "World
without war, terrorism and violence!" and "Stage - free of arms". Our
Festival has nothing in common with commercial theatrical events.

The Organizing committee of the Festival suggest participating in the
realization of this project and as far as it is possible informing
theatres and other taking any interest in our idea organizations in your
