interfilm Berlin is calling for entries for the

23rd. International Short Film Festival Berlin - 6th.-11th. Nov 2007

Please send us your films as soon as possible!
Entry deadline is the 13th.of July 2007.

We're already looking forward to lots of festival guests, film makers
and short film fans. Around 14,000 people were counted at 2006's
festival enjoying more than 500 short film productions from 48
countries. The star-studded jury awarded prizes valued at a total of
40,000 Euro. And we're certainly looking forward to new films for the
coming festival!

International juries will present "interfilm Short Awards" in the
categories:
  - International Competition
  - German Competition
  - Documentary Competition
  - Children's Short Film Competition
  - Confrontations - Against Violence and Intolerance
  - Eject - the Long Night of Films that Went Astray


During the six festival days, around 500 short films will be shown on 8
screens in three cinemas located in Berlin Mitte. The festival is an
established meeting place for the international short film scene,
bringing the entire spectrum of short film production together and
presenting the latest, most interesting works in thematic programmes,
retrospectives and special events. We offer historical presentations,
specialised experimental programmes, 'Local Heroes', music clips, ads
and numerous outstanding country and genre-programmes. Apart from
screenings there are panels, a brunch as well as the Festival Lounge and
various parties. All films entered may be viewed by our film industry
audience at the Film Market.

In 2007 the focus is on documentary film. In competitions,
retrospectives, thematic programmes, workshops and panels the diversity
of the documentary narrative will be introduced to a wide audience.
Guests will present rare cinematic examples, historical associations
will be made and theory and practise linked.

The country focus is concentrated on South Korea and Eastern Europe.
Institutions and film makers will be introduced; outstanding regional
skills illustrated, international networks formed and insights into film
industry development highlighted by historical references.

The Short Films for Children category - KUKI - will be extended in 2007:
While the competition programmes will continue to be divided into
age-groups, KUKI will be enriched by the inclusion of two new
programmes, 'Documentary' and 'Films for Youth' aimed at those aged 12+.
The workshop for school children will take place once again, where 9-11
year-olds write screenplays and make a film centred around this year's
theme 'Being Strange-Being Different'.

As you can see the spectrum of cinematic creativity is limitless!
We look forward to loads of entries.
