The festival offers an international competition which includes the two
categories: Independent Animated Films / Independent Animated Videos Any
animated film or video made by a woman may be entered in the competition.
The deadline for applications and sending of films/videos for the
preliminary selection is December 3rd, 2007.

The animated film/video entered in the competition must be produced 2006
or 2007. No films entered in prior Tricky Women Festivals shall be
admitted.

Awards: Tricky Women Award of the City of Vienna worth 3,650 Euro
3-month scholarship in the artist-in-residence programme of quartier21/MQ
Synchro Film & Video Material Prize worth 1,500 Euro
Audience Award

For every film/video to be presented at the preliminary selection a
clearly marked VHS-tape/DVD must be sent in together with an application
form. The tape must CLEARLY show the name and the address of the
directress as well as the running time of the production. Each tape/DVD
shall contain one work only. By entering a DVD, please add a VHS for our
archive.

Applicants should enclose an English or German version of any text,
dialogue or commentary contained in the film, which is not in English or
German.

Films to be screened at the festival must be in 35 mm or 16 mm format;
videos must be Beta SP PAL.

One application form must be filled in for every competition entry.
Applicants must enclose documentation material (at least two film stills
as prints or digital as jpeg 300dpi/300kb – CD-Rom welcome), biographical
information of the directress and details of her film-making history.

The preliminary selection committee decides on the details of competition
programming.

By submitting a film, the makers consent to include it in the competition
programme or the other programmes. The directress/contact person will be
informed of the preliminary selection committee´s decision before the
start of the festival.

The screening copy must arrive not later than 20th of February 2008 at our
festival office (culture2culture, quartier21/MQ, Museumsplatz 1, 1070
Vienna, Austria). The costs of transport as well as customs duties, etc.
are the sole responsibility of the sender. The festival organisation will
cover the costs of returning the screening copies.

Tapes for the pre-selection will not be returned. The pre-selection
viewing material remains in the film/video archive of culture2culture (no
commercial use).

Film/video copies from abroad must bear the label “temporary import – for
cultural purposes only – no trade value” on the package. Dispatches from
non-Eu states must contain a pro-forma invoice (amounting to a maximum of
25 Euro). In case of the copy being lost or damaged only the material
value can be refunded. Compensation claims must be made within 10 days
after the film has been returned.

During the festival the productions are insured for their print value. The
insurance is valid from the time of postal receipt of the film/video until
it is sent back. Applicants grant the festival the right to show on
television and/or internet broadcaster parts of their production to a
maximum of 3 minutes.
