Nature photographer Nadine Blacklock made photographs accessible to all;
images that invite viewers to delve deeper - to see beyond the literal.
Nadine died in an automobile accident in 1998 at the age of 44. In honor
of her career and as a co-founder of the Blacklock Nature Sanctuary,
this fellowship has been established in her name.

A woman nature photographer will be selected for a month-long residency.

Purpose of the fellowship is to give recognition to women working in the
nature photography genre and allow them access to the subject matter
found at the Blacklock Nature Sanctuary. Successful proposals will
connect and build upon Nadine Blacklock's aesthetic sensibilities.
Follow application procedures for Visual Artists and mark outside of
application package with "Nadine Blacklock Nature Photography Fellowship."

No stipend is available for this fellowship. The photographer will have
free use of the Sanctuary land and studios and the two-bedroom home in
Moose Lake for one month. The photographer will also have access to the
Lake Superior property depending on the time of year.

Eligibility: Open to all women nature photographers at all career levels
who are at least 21 years of age and who are not currently enrolled in a
BFA program.
