Interkunst e.V. is looking for young performing artists from all over the
world, preferably groups of 2 or 3 persons (age between 17 and 27), active
in theatre, dance, music, circus etc., for the theatre und music project
"INSTANT ACTS against Violence and Racism". This project is on tour in
September/October, each year.
We´re looking forward to create an international group (max. 20 persons),
a mix of talented and creative people, open for new experiences. They
should come from different traditions and cultural backgrounds and
represent various types of performing arts. Together we will create an
awareness for different forms of violence and racism, within the audience.
With workshops and a high quality show, “INSTANT ACTS” is effective, in an
attractive and emotional way, against prejudices leading to violence and
racism. The project also inspires the young audience to turn to an active
and creative life, without drugs and alcohol.

The invited artists are supposed to bring short performances to the
project (max. 10 min), based on their personal experiences and related to
the theme of violence and racism. Right before the tour starts, we will
also work on mutual acts. With the help of a theatre director, all the
elements are being put together in one professional show (75 min). During
the tour, we conduct workshops with the local youth, before the show - for
example theatre, dance, rap, music, drumming workshops. We present our
project in schools, theatres, churches, youth or cultural centres and
jails.

The application must include following information:
1. Personal data: name, date of birth, nationality, photo
2. Your artistic activity and experience, preferably with demo tape
3. Description of your capability to conduct a workshop with young people
4. Motivation to take part in this project

Please, let us know about you, immediately, by email or by post (check
below). In case, we are interested in your participation, we will ask you
to prepare a presentation for the project. Each invited artist is provided
with accomodation, catering, transport and a salary.

The international youth theatre project "INSTANT ACTS against Violence and
Racism" gets public support from municipalities, districts and ministries
of the federal states of Germany. The project has already been performed
in more then 400 cities and villages in Germany and other European
countries.
