prolonged till 17 May!

Dear All,

FYI, the deadline for applications to International Summer School of
Photography is prolonged till 17 May 2009, in connection to the
confirmation of the 5th ISSP workshop by Vanessa Winship.

A renown international photographer and recipient of several prestigious
awards Vanessa Winship has confirmed her participation as a teacher in
ISSP 2009! She will lead a workshop on Environmental portrait. Her
creative projects in Turkey, the Balkans and Albania feature emotionally
focused portraits of people and surroundings encountered. Vanessa Winship
is a double winner of World Press Photo Competition (1998 and 2008) and a
Photographer of the Year 2008 of SONY World Photography Awards for her
series Sweet Nothings. Vanessa’s participation is supported by SONY
Baltic. More information: www.vanessawinship.com

The 4th International Summer School of Photography (ISSP) 2009 will take
place in Ludza, Latvia on 1-9 August, 2009. For the 4th year already, the
ISSP is offering high-quality alternative education to photographers by
expanding and deepening their perception of different genres, as well as
encouraging networking and exchange of ideas in the art of photography.
Since its launch in 2006, the ISSP has received excellent feedback from
both participants and teachers.

The School is designed for those who have a serious relationship with
photography as means of personal creative expression, and want to bring
this relationship to a new level via a concentrated learning experience.
Traditionally, the ISSP 2009 offers 5 thematic workshops, led by
photography professionals of international standing. Without Vanessa
Winship the workshops will conduct following established
photographers-photography teachers: Mehmet Kismet (Turkey), Peeter Linnap
(Estonia), Eiko Grimberg (Germany), Iveta Vaivode (Latvia), Alexander
Gronsky (Russia).

50 participants (10 per workshop) will be selected based on their
Application forms.
There is no limitation to country of origin of the participants - foreign
applicants are most welcome to apply! The working language of ISSP is
English. The results of the selection process will be communicated by end
of May.

Interested participants are welcome to apply till 17 May, 2009!

To find out more about the event and the other workshops, as well to
download the Application form, see:

We will be most grateful if you pass this information further to all
interested lovers of photography!

Yours sincerely,
