Sambata, 25 iulie, Asociatia Oberliht, in parteneriat cu Muzeul
Aceasta sarcina a

lucrari video care comunica deseori mesaje personale inscrise in
mediul urban cu ajutorul imaginii, naratiunii si sunetului. Selectia
artistei suedeze Johanna BILLING, care, produsa in unul dintre
schimbarile evidente in orasul post-socialist traversat de cintecele
deschideri pentru istoria schimbarilor, a transformarilor, istorie in

participare publica a fost lansat in orasul Chisinau.
intentionind sa promoveze arta contemporana si cultura tinerilor in
spatiul public prin strierea si contaminarea informationala a
teritoriului urban, sa incurajeze participarea activa a diverselor
politicile publice in vederea extinderii accesului si utilizarii mai
putin restrictionate a spatiul public.

Flat Space | Spatiu Deschis pentru Galeria Mobila – o compozitie
replica functionala a unui apartament fara pereti care va servi drept
spatiu deschis prezentarilor publice si evenimente culturale. Totodata

teoreticieni, operatori culturali sa participe in activitatile CHIOSC-
ului cu expozitii, ateliere, proiectii, prezentari, intalniri s. a.

Proiectul CHIOSC cuprinde si rezultatele proiectului INTERVENTII3 care
a fost realizat in 2008:
http://www.oberliht.org.md/interventii3.html

Proiectul CHIOSC beneficiaza de sprijinul Fundatiei Culturale
Europene, Directiei Cultura al Municipiului Chitinau, Preturii
sectorului Centru, Preturii sectoruluii Buiucani, Aliantei Franceze

On Saturday, July 25, Oberliht Association in partnership with
National Museum of Ethnography and Natural History are announcing the
open air screening of experimental film and video from Croatia,
selected by Natasa BODROZIC. The program composed of eight
experimental films and videos (lasting around 80 minutes) will be
screened on the facade wall of the museum. The screening is part of
the CHIOSC, international project aiming at cultural exchange and
cooperation. On this occasion, some of the most relevant Croatian
artists and their works dealing with the changes in contemporary urban
environment in Croatia will be presented.

Video works and films selected for this occasion are originally meant
for CHIOSC, to be projected on the empty wall of the small
architectural unit that will be standing in the center of Chisinau, or
shown on a small TV monitor placed on the TV cabinet standing in the
middle of the “open flat”. I was invited to make a selection of recent
video works produced in Croatia, dealing with different topics related
to urban transformations and public space, then to be presented in
(another) public space. This task was probably counting on a sort of
translation, displacement, potential overlapping, piercing of one
space into another.

This selection did not limit itself only to the questions of public
space in the narrow sense. It is a collection of short films and video
works communicating often personal messages built in the urban
environments, using image, story and sound. The “national” selection
is broke down with the Swedish artist Johanna Billing whose video work
“Magical World” produced in one of the Zagreb neighborhoods, in a
subtle way deals with evident changes in post socialist city through
singing of a children choir. It presents one of the most beautiful
openings for the story of changes, transformations, the story which
still lacks its own ending.

The CHIOSC project, a cultural info-point and a platform for public
participation is being launched in the city of Chisinau. It has been
conceived in a complex social and political context that marks the
period of transition, with the intention to promote contemporary art
and youth culture in public space by contaminating the urban territory
with relevant information. It is meant to encourage active
participation of diverse social groups representing often marginalized
or less visible domains by putting at their disposal a public platform
for manifestation, to strengthen local and develop regional and
international network of cultural operators and professionals, to
influence the existing public policies and local authorities to extend
the access to public space and allow it’s less restricted usage.

The FLAT SPACE for mObile gallery – small architecture unit designed
by ?tefan RUSU will represent a functional replica of an apartment
without walls that will provide an open space for public presentations
and cultural activities. It will also serve as a cultural info-point
accessible to general publics: professionals, amateurs or cotemporary
art lovers.

This project intends to present the diversity and richness of various
art practices carried out in different parts of European continent,
thus one of its objectives is to invite artists, theorists, cultural
workers to participate in CHIOSC’s activities with exhibitions,
workshops, screenings, talks etc.

The CHIOSC project includes the results of the INTERVENTIONS3 project
realized in 2008:
http://www.oberliht.org.md/interventii3.html

The CHIOSC project receives support from the European Cultural
Foundation, Cultural Department of the city of Chisinau, Center and
Buiucani districts of city of Chisinau, Latin Union (Republic of
Moldova office), Romanian Cultural Institute through CANTEMIR Program
(2008), CEC ArtsLink, Gulliver Connect, French Alliance Moldova and
Henkel Romania.
