danceWEB - European Scholarship Programme for Contemporary Dance

			next deadline: 2009-12-15

		The
Scholarship Programme offers around 65 young professional dancers and
choreographers from mainly European but also from non European
countries the possibility to take part in an intense multinational
further training programme. The Programme is a 5 week residency taking
place every year in July - August in Vienna within the frame of ImPulsTanz
festival.

The
programme focuses on the exchange of ideas and knowledge, not limited
by national borders, on concentrated further training, on meeting with
internationally renowned artists gathering in Vienna at ImPulsTanz with
the aim to orient the career of the participants.

Support:
A scholarship includes the following free services:

Individual coaching by artistic mentors
Participation in the research projects of PRO SERIES
Participation in the research projects of COACHING PROJECT
Participation in the technique workshops of ImPulsTanz
Admission to all (up to 45) performances of ImPulsTanz
Access to approx. 250 awarded dance film videos available at the IMZ
(Internationales Musikzentrum, Wien) video library
Exchange of ideas and contact with the international trainers and
choreographers
Lecture demonstrations
Special projects exclusively offered to danceWEB scholarship-holders
Connection to and presentation of a yearly growing, international danceWEB
database
Accommodation in Vienna for the period of the scholarship programme

Each
scholarship within the frame of Jardin d'Europe is cofinanced by the
European Union (Culture 2007-2013 programme), by Austrian funding
bodies and by local funding from the home country of the nominee (but
no private persons as sponsors). This last part is not yet secured in
all countries. Therefore the applicants are encouraged (in cooperation
with the Jardin d'Europe office) to look for possible funding
institutions in their home countries. It is a good idea to check the
former danceWEBers from your home country and where they received
funding from: http://www.dancewebeurope.net/m_link.php?id=47&method=frame

Participants:
dancers and choreographers with decidedly professional ambitions from
European, Eastern European and non European countries,
preferably between 22 and 28 years of age
a good knowledge of English
The quality of the dance background is the main criteria for participation
in danceWEB.

Depending
on the available sources of financing, 1 or 2 participants per country
are selected from countries of the European Union. In addition, a total
of 15-20 participants from Central and Eastern European countries as
well as a small number from other regions of the world (Africa,
South-East Asia, North/South America, Australia) are selected each
year.

Deadline for participation: 15 December 2009.
