Zum 28. Mal präsentiert das Kasseler Dokumentarfilm- und Videofest die
Vielfalt des regionalen, nationalen und internationalen
dokumentarischen Schaffens in all seinen Variationen. Rund 250 kurze
und lange dokumentarische und künstlerisch-experimentelle Arbeiten
kommen während der 6 Festivaltage zur Aufführung. Ergänzt wird das
Programm durch die Medienkunstausstellung Monitoring, audiovisuelle
Performances und VJ-Kunst in der DokfestLounge, die Workshop-Tagung
interfiction, das DokfestForum und verschiedene Veranstaltungen für
den hessischen Filmnachwuchs. In dieser Zusammenschau ergibt sich ein
Profil, das in der Festivallandschaft einzigartig ist.
2011 findet das Dokfest vom 8. bis 13. November statt.

Preise
Goldener Schlüssel für die beste dokumentarische Nachwuchsarbeit
(5.000 Euro Preisgeld, gefördert von der Stadt Kassel)
Goldener Herkules für eine herausragende nordhessische Produktion
(2.500 Euro Preisgeld, gestiftet von der Machbar GmbH)
Golden Cube für die beste Installation der Ausstellung Monitoring
(2.500 Euro Preisgeld, gestiftet von der Micromata GmbH)
A38 Produktions-Stipendium: Das Festival vergibt gemeinsam mit
Werkleitz - Zentrum für Medienkunst ein Produktions-Stipendium, das
dank des Engagements der Hessischen Landesanstalt für privaten
Rundfunk und neue Medien (LPR Hessen) und der Medienanstalt
Sachsen-Anhalt (MSA) mit bis zu 3.000 € Unterhalts- sowie max. 1.000 €
Reisekosten ausgestattet ist. Darüber hinaus stehen Sachleistungen im
Wert von bis zu 4.000 € zur Verfügung.

Wir laden alle Filmemacher/innen, Künstler/innen, Verleiher/innen,
Produzent/innen, Galerist/innen, Hochschulen und Institutionen ein,
sich mit aktuellen Arbeiten und Projekten für die einzelnen Sektionen
des 28. Kasseler Dokumentarfilm- und Videofestes zu bewerben.

For the 28th time the Kassel Documentary Film and Video Festival will
present the diversity of regional, national and international
documentary work in all its variation.
About 250 international short and feature length documentary films as
well as experimental and artistic works will be presented during the
six days of the festival. The program is complemented by the media art
exhibition Monitoring, audiovisual performances and VJ-ing at the
DokfestLounge, the workshop seminar interfiction, the DokfestForum and
several events dedicated to young Hessian filmmakers. All in all, it
adds up to a profile that is unique among the festival scene. The 28th
Kassel Dokfest will take place from November 8 to 13.

Awards
Golden Key for the best up-and-coming documentary of a young director
(5,000 Euro, supported by the City of Kassel)
Golden Hercules for an outstanding production from the region of
Northern Hesse (2,500 Euro, sponsored by the corporate communications
company Machbar GmbH)
Golden Cube for the best installation of the Monitoring exhibition
(2,500 Euro, sponsored by the software company Micromata GmbH)
A38 Production Grant awarded in cooperation with Werkleitz - Centre
for Media Art. Thanks to the kind support of the LPR Hessen and the
Medienanstalt Sachsen-Anhalt (regulatory authorities for commercial
broadcasting in Hesse and Saxony-Anhalt) the grant includes up to
4,000 € for living and traveling expenses and up to additional 4,000 €
for allowance in kind.

We invite all filmmakers, artists, distributors, producers, gallery
owners, universities or institutions to submit their most current
works and projects to the different sections of the festival.
