The wait is over, we have now opened the call for projects for FEST Pitching Forum 2015.

FEST Pitching Forum is a unique opportunity for filmmakers to present their projects to top industry producers, who are looking to finance, produce or develop new projects. In a 6 minute pitch, each participant will be asked to unwrap their project, in whatever way seems more appropriate. FEST Pitching Forum is quickly becoming one of the most sought for pitching forums worldwide.

At the end of each pitch, there will be 10 minutes for feedback from the experts and further production questions. This is feedback of an extreme value, as the experts will provide their years of experience in Film to give you the best constructive feedback to take your project to a new level.

At the end of FEST Pitching Forum, each participant will partake in an exclusive meeting with all the experts, for a more private feedback and counselling about each project.
Inside FEST Pitching forum there will be a section for training, the forum itself, and the Industry Meetings.

Who will be the experts ?
The experts will be invited during two days to take part in the pitching session. The experts will also be present in the Industry Meetings and be available for one on one meetings with the participants.

Each panel will consist of no less than 11 producers, financiers and project developers per session (a total of 44) with very considerable experience , from television to documentary and fiction.
We have, as usual, experts such as Tim Corrie, Gareth Wiley, Irena Taskovski, Paul Miller, Rachel Robey, Sean Gascoine, Scandar Copti, Guillermo Garcia-Ramos, Nuno Fonseca, Manuel Claro and many more.

 


What type of projects are eligible?
There will be 4 independent and thematic sessions inside FEST - Pitching Forum, covering the following types of projects: Feature Film; Short Film; Documentary and TV Series

 
How many projects will be selected?
There are limited places, therefore there will be a pre-selection. Seven projects projects will be selected for each session – Feature Film; Short Film; Documentary and TV Series – in a total of 28 projects.

 

Are there rehearsal or training sessions before the actual pitching?

On the three days prior to the Pitching Forum we will have a training activity, divided into 4 groups (Feature Film; Short Film; Documentary and TV Series) where participants should partake in order to get better prepared for the presentation at FEST – Pitching Forum. This activity is also helpful in gaining self awareness of one’s project.




Will there be immediate awards?

FEST Pitching Forum has a special impressive award. The most valued project in each session will have the opportunity to be tutored and helped develop by one of our top experts, who will surely help the project get to a new level, otherwise hard to achieve. The list of awards is the following:

1St Place – 3 months tutoring, and project development by one of the experts.

2Nd Place – A voucher for a FEST FILM LAB Workshop of their choosing. (www.filmlab.fest.pt)




What else can we get from it apart from the awards?

There is far much more to be gained apart from the immediate awards at FEST – Pitching Forum.

Firstly each of the board of experts can select projects that they would like to develop\tutor\finance\produce, this has happen in previous year, and is of course an enormous opportunity, given that you will have excellent experts on the board.

If your project does not win any of the immediate awards, or is selected individually by any of the experts present to be developed\tutored\financed\produced, there is something of extreme value you will take home: The feedback from some of the most experienced people in the film industry, that will be given to you immediately after your pitch, and privately at the end of the session. Do not overlook to the importance and value of this, many people pay large sums of money just to receive feedback from these personalities. This will be constructive feedback that will help you to significantly improve your project, and will stay with you for the coming years.


When and where?

FEST Pitching Forum will take place on the 26Th and  27Th of June 2015, at the Biblioteca Municipal José Marmelo e Silva, on Av. 24 in Espinho. Portugal.

FEST Pitching Forum will occur in the same dates as FEST - New Directors | New Films Festival and FEST - Training Ground, one of the most relevant Portuguese Film Festivals in Portugal, with an deluxe training event in Filmmaking.


 

Registration fee
Submitting a project has a fee of 60 Euro per project. However, if the project is submitted by a registered participants of FEST – Training Ground the fee is only 25 Euro.
If the project is submitted before the 31st of March there is an early bird submission fee of only 50 Euro.
