[…] IN RESIDENCY - ZK/U BERLIN OPEN CALL
In the context of its research and residency program, ZK/U offers a ‘living & work’ space for artists, scholars and practitioners working in the fields of urban research, geography, anthropology, urbanism, architecture and the humanities. The programme is open to brave, curious, artists in their field, working on the edge of their practice. ZK/U is focusing on the processual aspects of artistic and urban practice, which come from, and feed into, the particular contexts of the fellows’ manners, whether they be locally-defined situations or international discourses. In the frame of this Open Call, ZK/U wants to encourage thinking and acting that is going beyond ecological, economic and social crisis, foster questions about citizen participation in the urban and artistic field.
ZK/U RESIDENCY
The residency consists of furnished studio-apartments (half of which have private bathrooms), communal facilities, an open platform for public events, lectures, discussions, screenings, performances and presentations.
ZK/U organises various events and formats which allow residents to present their work to a selected as well as a wider audience. The residency also organises monthly curator studio visits, one public group presentation (OPENHAUS) per month, online and local promotion of the public events, and the opportunity for the residents to propose their own format.
For individual fellows, depending on the type of studio-apartment and the length of stay (3-8 month), the resident’s costs are between 550 and 850€ per month. The price covers all utility costs and space usage.
