INVITATION

Novi Sad, 12 June 2007,

Dear collegues,

With pleasure we invite you to contribute to the first ART ACT - Fair of Id=
eas about Arts in Education, that will take place from half november to hal=
f december this year. ART ACT will take place in the town of Zrenjanin, in =
the Voivodian region of Serbia.

ART ACT is a low budget international project organized by KPM Ogledalo, a =
relatively small but very active ngo that works on the promotion and implem=
entation of more creative working methods in the cultural and educational f=
ields on all levels. In Ogledalo people with different professions (teacher=
s, pedagogues, actors, musicians, managers and journalists) work on the fie=
ld of arts and education. Its target groups are primary directed to childre=
n and youngsters, and secondarily to the educational and cultural sector.

ART ACT - Fair of Ideas intends -as the name indicates- to provide and to e=
xchange ideas, and to invent new ones, where the fields of arts and educati=
on meet.

Its basic intention is to make a better and more actual formal process of e=
ducation by informing and exchanging experiences on the field of art and ed=
ucation, which are related to different pedagogical methods, techniques, fo=
rms and contents of working, which could be well implemented in the practic=
e of formal education.

ART ACT offers several themes concerning the value of arts in the education=
 of children, youngsters and students, and -consequently- in society as wel=
l.

The themes/ideas that can be exchanged on the fair are: ideas about the rel=
ation between aartistic work and the development of creativity; ideas of ho=
w arts can contribute to the development of the individual, of specific gro=
ups e.g. young people with a disability, as for society as a whole; ideas o=
f possibilities of realizing artistic projects in schools; ways of f(o)undi=
ng, maintaining and realizing artistic projects in schools; ideas about the=
 practical implementation of different artistic, educational, and character=
 building work models in formal education, e.g.: drama in education, art th=
erapy, psychodrama, sociodrama, Forum theatre, Impro theatre, creative dram=
a, dance in education, models for gender sensibilisation, music therapy, an=
d many more.

For this occasion we invite all who are interested to participate in ART AC=
T. Leading questions are:=20

a)     how to find ways to implement above mentioned global ideas into the =
educational practice of the classroom or school stage.

b)     how to animate, support and stimulate the cooperation between teache=
rs and artists.

ART ACT offers you the possibility to present your idea(s) or cases during =
the fair. Of course you may have your own creative way to present your work=
. However, we emphasise that your idea must be able to be implemented into =
the models of formal education of primary and/or secondary schools (that is=
 for children from age 6 to 18 yrs.) and how, where and when teachers can p=
ossibly use or integrate your way of working into their teaching programme.

In the application form hereby attached, you may fill more details about yo=
ur proposal. Therefore we send you the following forms.=20


In order to present your idea or to demonstrate your working method, we off=
er you the possibility of the following working forms:=20


  a.. a workshop of a total length of 9 hours, to be segmented into 2 or 3 =
days=20
  b.. a  multimedia presentation with a length of about 60 minutes=20
  c.. a lecture with a length of about 45 minutes=20
  d.. an illustrating case annex debate with a total length of about 80 min=
utes=20
  e.. Presentation by different means and a short lecture with the length o=
f 120 minutes Possibilities: performance + lecture; exhibition + lecture; f=
ilm + lecture; open workshop + lecture=20
  f.. Other ways. Your suggestions!

The deadline for application is September 15, 2007.
